Event sponsored by J Street U Harvard and co-sponsored by Harvard College Palestine Solidarity Committee, Progressive Jewish Alliance, and Harvard Students for Israel

What is the ‘back story’ behind the current peace negotiations? What is not being reported in the U.S. press?  Why is a two-state solution so important?  How can any of the parties break the impasse?  If they fail, what's next?

Both Daniel Levy and Amjad Atallah have been deeply involved in peace negotiations between Israel and the Palestinians.  As Co-Directors of the New America Foundation’s Middle East Task Force, they are uniquely placed to help us understand the negotiations and what will have to happen to achieve a lasting peace in the Middle East.

Soon after speaking at Harvard, many Boston-area students and supporters will be attending the J Street Conference in Washington DC.  Get a preview from Levy and Atallah on the key issues that American Jews need to stay focused on to bring about peace for Israelis and Palestinians.

Daniel Levy
Daniel Levy was a member of the official Israeli delegation to the Taba negotiations with the Palestinians in 2001 and previously served on the Israeli negotiating team for the "Oslo B" Agreement under Prime Minster Yitzhak Rabin. He was the lead Israeli drafter of the Geneva Initiative, a joint Israeli-Palestinian effort that p a detailed model for a peace agreement to end the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Amjad Atallah
Amjad Atallah is the former Director of Strategic Assessments Initiative, a non-profit organization assisting negotiations in conflict regions.  He ran the international policy and advocacy efforts of the Save Darfur Coalition, advised on the Kosovar constitutional process, prepared scenario exercises for the Palestinians and Israelis, and advised the Palestinian negotiating team in peace negotiations with Israel regarding international borders, security and constitutional issues.
